The ESSFTA strives to serve the English Springer Spaniel and its fanciers by promoting the welfare of the breed in many ways. Here are some of the benefits of membership:
- You will receive an electronic copy of our newsletter, “The Springer Spotlight”, four times a year. This informative publication keeps you informed about English Springers, from the local club level to the national level. There are articles on the latest genetic research, some helpful hints on many aspects of dog ownership and showmanship, and informative reports on ESSFTA activities. A mailed copy subscription is available for an additional fee.
- You can participate in areas of your interest and make a contribution to our breed by volunteering in any number of capacities. You will find that you’re a part of a national network of Springer enthusiasts.
- You will be eligible to compete for the annual Parent Club awards, which are given a number of areas – field, conformation (show), agility and obedience.
- You will learn about any local Springer clubs in your area. There are many of them, both in conformation, obedience and field throughout the U.S. and Canada.
There are three meetings of the Parent Club each year. One is held at the National Specialty show. Another is held at the National Amateur Field Trial. The annual standalone meeting is held the first weekend in May each year. The “Springer Spotlight” includes information about our meetings.

The dues are $35.00 a year for a single membership, $50.00 a year for two adults living at the same address, and $10.00 a year for a non-voting Junior membership (under 18 years of age).
We hope to welcome you as a member of the ESSFTA in the near future. If you need any further information regarding membership, please e-mail the membership secretary, Nanci LaMarque at [email protected]
