NOVICE SPRINGER OF THE YEAR Starting Award Year 2008 with Novice titles earned Jan 1, 2008 and later; The top three Novice scores from the award year will be counted. Scores may come from the A or B Classes, or from a combination of scores from both classes. Dogs may compete for this award until they earn their CDX. NOVICE A SPRINGER OF THE YEAR Starting Award Year 2008 with Novice A titles earned Jan 1, 2008 and later; The top three Novice A scores from the award year will be counted. OPEN SPRINGER OF THE YEAR The top three open scores from the award year will be counted. Scores may come from the A or B Class or from a combination of scores from both classes. Dogs may compete for this award until they earn their UD. UTILITY SPRINGER OF THE YEAR The top three utility scores from the award year will be counted. Scores may come from the A or B Class or from a combination of scores from both classes. Beginning with scores earned in 2007, dogs may compete for this award until they earn their UDX. OBEDIENCE SPRINGER OF THE YEAR The top three "high combined open and utility" scores from three obedience trials held during the award year will be counted. Scores may come from either the A or the B Class or from a combination of scores from both classes. RALLY SPRINGER OF THE YEAR The top three combined Advanced B and Excellent B scores earned at three trials in the award year will be counted. In the case of a tie, the award recipient will be the springer that attains the greatest number of placements from the Advanced B and Excellent B classes. |

The following apply to the above indicated awards: |

| 1. | Only scores/titles earned while an ESSFTA member in good standing will be considered. Application for membership does not constitute membership. (Please note that there may be a waiting period of up to ninety days to complete the application process.) |
| 2. | If the dog is owned by more than one individual, only one individual needs to be a member of the ESSFTA. |
| 3. | In the event of a tie, all recipients will be recognized. |
| 4. | The award year is the calendar year, January 1 to December 31. |

Scores will be verified by the National Awards Committee with AKC records and winners notified directly. |
| 6. | Any disputes with respect to interpretation or application of the rules will be referred to the Board of Governors for resolution. The Board's decision will be final. |
