AGILITY SPRINGER OF THE YEAR
MACH7 MIRATRI’S CLASSY TUXEDO CDX TD RN VCD2 |

Owner: Laurene Galgano |
Tux is 8 years old and has had an amazing
career. His formal endeavors include: Agility, Obedience, Tracking, and
Rally. If he could, he would also have Lure Course and Earth Dog titles
as he is a maniac chasing that plastic bag on a luring course and has
attempted to fit down the holes of moles and gophers in hot pursuit!
In his leisure life, he enjoys swimming, flushing birds (or
any critter that moves), romping through fields after buttterflies, and
chasing Frisbees.
Tux competed at the AKC Agility Nationals in 2005 and was the 1st
English Springer Spaniel to qualify for the Finals finishing in 10th
place. He competed again at the AKC Agility Nationals in 2006 and will
be attending the AKC Agility Invitational in December 2006. Tux is
currently working on MACH10!
Over the course of our partnership, I have learned that one
never knows how long one will have our companions. I enjoy every moment
that Tux and I share together, whether it is running together on an
agility course, enjoying a hike in the country, or watching as he chases
butterflies and tracks critters! |

NOVICE AGILITY SPRINGER
OF THE YEAR
TRAILWINDS WHERE EAGLES DREAM CDX TD AX AXJ RA VCD2 |

Owner: Tanya Kucaba |
Talon may not be the smartest dog I have
trained, but he is the most willing. He has no fear and is willing to
try anything. He loves agility, especially the tunnels. Of course that
can all be blamed on his breeders Randy Capsel and Cheeryl Clark. AS
puppies they got to play outside around the agility equipment. A tunnel
was the best place to hide and wait for a sibling to run by so you can
attack them. To this day I can't move a tunnel in the yard without a
50lb barking fool running in it. |

OPEN
AGILITY SPRINGER OF THE YEAR
STORMWYND SERENDIPITY AX, AXJ, CD |
Owners: Pamela Ornberg & Allison Milne |
I have been involved in dogs for about 35
years, Kaja (Kai) is my first Springer. I enjoyed showing in obedience
with my Dalmatians and Goldens, but then took off some time to raise my
family.
As my children grew and moved on, I was ready to get involved
with the dog world again. But I was ready for a new breed. My cousin, Dr
Allison Milne, VMD had raised English Springers under the Stormwynd
Kennel name for many years and suggested, get a Springer. After getting
to know a dog from her breeding I took the plunge.
Kaja became my new obsession and I started off with basic obedience and
shortly afterwards started an Agility class. It was not long before I
was hooked and jumps, tunnels, tires, etc started to show up in my yard.
It has been challenging to learn this new sport and I have enjoyed it
thoroughly.
Kaja earned the good citizens award at the age of 7 months.
We began showing in agility in Dec of 04 and she completed levels Novice
JWW & Std by June of 05, and Open JWW & Std by Oct of 05. Excellent went
smoothly finishing both classes in April of o6. We found time to get her
CD in Feb of 06. We are now working on our master title and are having a
blast.
She is a true treasure and a love to everyone. I would like
to thank Allison Milne for getting me started and Barbara Czavzasty of
Quaker Farms English Springer Spaniels.

EXCELLENT AGILITY
SPRINGER OF THE YEAR
CH RAMBLEWOOD CRYSTAL CLEAR CD SH MX MXJ WDX |

Owners: Patty & Tracy Salzwedel |
Thank
you for this wonderful recognition 2 years in a row. It is an honor to
be the #1 English Springer Spaniel for fastest YPS in agility.
This was made possible by having a wonderful partner,
"Brooke" who thinks the greatest thing in life is training and showing.
You will know when it is Brooke's turn on the agility course because you
will hear her barking on the start line "Hurry up Mom, let's run!" With
her speed and athleticism, she has won many placements in the
competitive 20" class, often time beating the Border Collies.
Brooke's 2005 agility career was cut short with a trip to the
whelping box. In addition to being a mother to 7 beautiful puppies, she
still managed to earn her MXJ title and 8 double Q's and 850 points
toward her MACH.
Thank you again for honoring Ch Ramblewood Crystal Clear CD
SH MX MXJ WDX with this award

PREFERRED AGILITY
SPRINGER OF THE YEAR
MACH SPLASH’S WHISPER IN THE NIGHT CD MXP MJP, CGC, TDI |

Owner: Joanne Hass |
Daphne
finished her MACH in Nov 04 at the age of nine. She was always known
amongst my friends and fellow agility addicts for her ability to save my
"butt" and pull off a clean run in spite of me, her inept handler. No
matter how badly I handled her Daphne would nimbly make the jump or turn
necessary to "Q". She is an incredibly graceful, smooth, pretty jumper
who always made it look easy. We would hear gasps from the crowd when my
handling would cause her to have to take off from a really bad spot but
she'd manage it without any fuss or complaining.
After we earned her MACH I made the decision to move Daphne
to the Preferred class because I thought I owed it to her. She was still
sound, game, agile, and without a gray hair on her head but she would be
starting to compete in Preferred at the age of ten. After nine years of
Daphne taking care of me I choose to take care of her and placed her in
preferred. She went from Nov Preferred to Masters Preferred in 6 months
of trialing. She always made regular class time and won or placed in all
her classes and was known as the pretty springer with heart.
Daphne didn't love obedience but to support our local breed
club we entered the obedience ring after a 2 year absence. We hadn't
practiced but twice before that show. So we brushed up the night before
the show outside my dentists office in the dark while waiting for my
daughter. The next morning we earned the last leg for our CD and went
High in Trial.
Daphne also did therapy work for a short time in a
prestigious childrens hospital. She was one of only 3 dogs chosen to
work with these very ill children from around the world. She would
entertain the children by weaving through them, jumping over them,
working with them doing hand signals, recalls, and tricks for them, or
whatever the children found amusing. She was appreciated for her gentle,
calm, quiet, unflappable way. Daphne loved to hunt and entertained many
an agility exhibitor chasing frogs. Her picture was on the cover of a
breed calendar, in books and she had a walk on part in a TV movie. She's
accomplished all I could possibly ask of her. |
